The match schedule for the 2026 FIVB Volleyball Boys' U17 World Championship has been released, with 24 teams set to compete at Aspire Ladies Hall and Al Arabi Sports Hall in Doha, Qatar, from 19 to 29 August.
Defending champions Italy will begin their title defence against Romania at Al Arabi Sports Hall on 19 August, while 2024 runners-up Argentina face Algeria simultaneously at Aspire Ladies Hall in the opening matches of the tournament. Later on the first day of competition, hosts Qatar will take on Poland, with Iran meeting Japan, Spain facing Czechia and Chinese Taipei playing Türkiye.
The 2026 edition will introduce a revised competition format, with 16 of the 24 participating teams advancing to the knockout stage. The top two teams from each of the six pools and the four best third-placed teams will progress to the Round of 16, aligning the competition structure with the format used at senior FIVB World Championships.
Pool play will take place from 19 to 24 August across Aspire Ladies Hall and Al Arabi Sports Hall before the Round of 16 on 25 August. Following a rest day, the quarterfinals will be played on 27 August and the semifinals on 28 August.
The quarterfinals, semifinals, bronze medal match and final will all be played at Aspire Ladies Hall, with the tournament concluding on 29 August when the champions will be crowned.
The revised format is being introduced for the Boys' U17 World Championship and will also be implemented at future FIVB Junior World Championships.
