The sports programme for the Olympic Q-Series has been announced, with Shanghai, Montreal and Orlando set to host beach volleyball. The announcement identifies the three stops where the sport will be played during the inaugural multi-city series on the road to the LA28 Olympic Games.
Following the opening stop of Q-series in Tokyo from 4 to 7 May 2028, beach volleyball will have its debut in Shanghai from 11 to 14 May, before moving to Montreal from 1 to 4 June and Orlando from 8 to 11 June. The winning team of each stop will obtain one quota place for their countries to the LA28 Olympic Games.
Shanghai's programme also includes 3x3 basketball, BMX freestyle and climbing. Montreal will feature flag football, BMX freestyle and skateboarding park alongside beach volleyball, while Orlando's programme includes flag football, climbing and skateboarding park.
Beach volleyball is one of three sports that will feature at three Olympic Q-Series stops, alongside BMX freestyle and climbing. Each host city will stage a different combination of four sports, featuring a mix of team and individual sports throughout the series.
